Featured: The Best Touring Tyres for 2025 Tested

There's a new comfort bias summer tyre to market, the Pirelli Cinturato C3! To see how good the new tyre really is, I've tested it against some of its key rivals from Michelin and Continental. I've also added some new tyres I've not tested before.

As usual, all the tyres in this test will be tested in the dry and wet, and I'll be assessing the comfort, noise, and rolling resistance (energy use) of the tyres to give you a complete overview of which tyre is best.

Featured: The 7 BEST All Weather Tyres Tested

The all weather category of tyres is quickly growing in popularity, as a tyre that can be used in all weathers is a big advantage for people living in snowy climates, it saves changing tyres twice a year between an all season and a winter product.

To find out which of these new all weather category tyres is best, I have tested them in the dry, wet, snow and ice to give you a really good overview of their abilities, and also looked into the the rolling resistance, comfort, noise levels and value, to find out which tyre is best in all conditions.

Featured: The Best All Season Tyres for 2024 / 2025

This is the 2024/25 Tyre Reviews All Season Tyre Test! For this test, I have selected six of the best all season tyres in the large 235/35 R19 tyre size, and I'm using a MK8 VW Golf GTI to find out exactly which all season tyre is best in the larger wheel size.

To give this test extra depth, I also have six ultra high performance winter tyres in exactly the same size, and I've included a summer tyre. With this relatively small test field I've managed to test everything as one test, which means a common control allowing us to cross reference the data. This has shown us how the very best all season tyres compare to the very best summer and winter tyres in the snow, ice, dry and wet. There's some really interesting insight into how the all season tyres compare to the other categories below.

The Best All Season Tyres for 2024 / 2025

Featured: 2024 Sports Car All Season Tyre Test

This year Autobild has published a second all season tyre test, this time in their sports car specific publication. The test uses a sporty Subaru BRZ to test eleven sets of 225/40 R18 all season tyres in the dry, wet and snow.

To help illustrate the differences between all season, summer and winter tyres the tester included a reference summer and winter tyre. Overall the tyres performed as you would expect, the summer tyre was by far the best in the dry and wet, but dangerously unusable in the snow and had the highest rolling resistance (which was a bit of a surprise), whereas the winter tyre was almost last in every dry and wet test, but performed much better in the snow (but not the best in snow braking or snow handling!)

Featured: The BEST Performance Tyres Tested

2025 Sports Cars Tyre Test

Autobild Sports Cars tests are usually nice and simple. Fast car, the best of the UUHP tyres, put them together and see what's best.

Thankfully, in the strange year of 2025 testing, Autobild have kept that formula and tested eight performance summer tyres in 245/35 R19 using an Audi TTS.

As this is a nice and simple test, we'll let the data do the talking.

2025 Summer and All Season Combined Tyre Test

Every year there's a tyre test that makes me stop and wonder how they got to their conclusion, and this year that award goes to the UTAC / Aftonbladet summer tyre test.

As a bit of scene setting, Aftonbladet is a Scandinavian newspaper, so UTAC, who performed the testing, focused on the cold weather ability of the tyres, which is something I love. However, they did make some interesting statements, and ended up with some interesting findings. In total they tested 14 tyres, 10 summer and 4 European spec all season tyres, all in 225/45 R17.

2025 EV Tyre Test

German publication AutoBild has tested eight summer tyres in the 215/55 R18 size specifically aimed at electric vehicles. The test aimed to find tyres that could achieve the difficult balance between energy efficiency (for maximum EV range) and safety performance.

AutoBild evaluated models from premium manufacturers like Continental, Goodyear and Michelin alongside offerings from mid-range brands including Falken, Firestone and Yokohama, plus budget option Goodride. Interestingly, only two tyres in the test - the Hankook iON evo and Falken e.Ziex - were specifically designed as EV tyres, while others were standard tyres that manufacturers claim are also suitable for electric vehicles.

2025 AMS Sustainability Tyre Test

Auto Motor Und Sport always pushes traditional tyre testing in new directions, and this years summer tyre test has a new twist - sustainability. The test focused on the 215/55 R17 size, suitable for midsize sedans, station wagons, and compact SUVs, with particular attention paid to tyres achieving at least a "B" rating for rolling resistance on the EU tyre label.

2025 Sport Auto UUHP Tyre Test

The 2025 Sport Auto UUHP tyre test is the first to test the new Falken Azenis RS820!

The test used a G series BMW M4 with 275/35 R19 front and 285/30 R20 rear tyre sizes. Sport Auto evaluated four performance tyres: Continental SportContact 7, Michelin Pilot Sport 4S, Falken Azenis RS 820, and the BMW OE-marked Pirelli P Zero (PZ4*). Testing covered wet and dry braking, handling, aquaplaning resistance, and rolling resistance.

2025 Vi Bilagare Summer EV Tyre Test

Vi Bilägare magazines summer tyre test features eight tyres in size 235/55 R19, focusing on performance for EV SUVs. Testing took place in unusually cold conditions near Madrid, Spain, where temperatures hovered around 10°C - similar to Scandinavian spring or autumn weather.

The test featured six standard aftermarket tyres from premium and budget manufacturers, alongside two OE (Original Equipment) tyres specifically designed for Volkswagen and Volvo vehicles. The testing vehicle was a Kia EV6, a battery-electric SUV weighing 2,031kg, with some measurements also taken using a Tesla Model Y.

2025 Auto Bild Summer Performance Tyre Test

Following on from the 52 set braking shootout, the full Autobild summer tyre test has taken the best twenty tyres to the full set of testing, with some interesting highlights!

There are two interesting stories. Firstly, is the rise of the Chinese tyres, with both Linglong and Sailun performing really well in the grip tests. Does this mean Chinese tyres are now fighting with the premium manufacturers? Well, sort of.

2025 AZ Summer Tyre Test

The 2025 Auto Zeitung summer tyre test has tested ten ultra high performance 225/45 R18 patterns in the dry and wet, and this year included wear!

The wear test has added some interesting highlights, which we'll discuss below.

2025 ADAC Summer Tyre Test

The 2025 ADAC summer tyre test has been published, and it follows this years trend of testing in the sporty 225/40 R18 tyre size!

As always with ADAC they sadly don't give us all the data for the test, but they do give us some interesting insights, including wear, and they do a great job summarising each tyres performance overall.

New Pirelli Cinturato C3 Sets Dry Braking Benchmark in Testing

Pirelli have just launched the replacement to the Pirelli Cinturato P7 C2, and naturally they've kept their next generation naming conventions as logical as possible by naming the new tyre the Pirelli Cinturato. C3. Well, we've added the C3 part, but as we're betting the next version of the tyre is also going to be called the Cinturato, we need to keep track of the models (as we currently do with the P Zero [PZ4].)

2025 Summer Tyre Test Shootout

Winner, Bridgestone Potenza SportSo it begins, the 2025 summer tyre test season is upon is, and it's going to be an interesting year!

To start things off, Autobild have published their annual 52 tyre shootout, where they test the wet and dry braking of pretty much every tyre they can get their hands on to work out the best 20 to take through to the full tyre test.

Michelin Launches New e.Primacy All-Season Tyre

Michelin e.Primacy All SeasonMichelin has released its new e.Primacy All-Season tyre, targeting North American drivers who want better efficiency across all powertrain types. The new tyre aims to reduce energy consumption while maintaining longevity, with test data showing significant advantages over competing products in both areas.

Nokian Launches Surpass AS01 UHP All-Season Tyre

Nokian AS01Nokian has released their latest ultra-high-performance all-season tyre, the Surpass AS01, now shipping to North American dealers. The new model introduces several technical advances, including Aramid fiber reinforced sidewalls and the company's most silica-rich compound in their all-season range.

The tyre's construction prioritizes both performance and durability. At its core, the Surpass AS01 uses a high-silica compound designed to enhance handling characteristics and extend tyre life. The tread pattern combines a strong outer shoulder with a dedicated outer-middle rib for cornering grip, while the central rib incorporates 3D siping technology for direct handling response and grip.

The Michelin Primacy 5 is Here!

Michelin Primacy 5Michelin has announced the Primacy 5, a new tyre for passenger cars and SUVs that brings substantial improvements in key performance areas. The new Primacy 5 tyre offers over 20% better wear than its predecessor, the Primacy 4+, which translates to approximately 7,000 additional kilometers (4,300 miles) of use before replacement.

Continental AllSeasonContact 2 - Real World Review

Here in the UK summer tyres are the sort the vast majority of the public use year-round, although they perform less well at colder temperatures and extremely poorly in snow. Winter tyres are designed for the colder months and have good snow capabilities while still retaining wet and dry performance, although often at the cost of some dry braking. All season tyres are somewhere in between, attempting to be usable in all conditions while being left on year-round. Most modern all season tyres have the “snowflake on mountain” certification on them, just as full winter tyres do.

The BEST All Terrain Tyre for 2025

In this test I've taken five of the most popular aggressive all terrain tyres for SUVs and trucks, and tested them offroad, in the dry, wet, and snow, and spent time assessing noise and comfort levels to help you pick the best all terrain tyre for your vehicle.

The BEST All Terrain Tyre for 2025

Best All Terrain Tyres Tested On Road, Off Road and Snow [2024]

Well, this might cause a few arguments. A German magazine just published it's (very) in depth all terrain tyre test, and while this is a German magazine testing the A/T tyres on a van, these tyres are the same as available in the US market, and they're testing in the very all terrain 255/55 R18 size.

The test field consisted of five proper 3 peak (3PMSF winter rating) all terrain tyres, the BF Goodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2, Bridgestone Dueler A/T 002, Falken Wildpeak AT3 W/A, General Grabber AT3, and the Loder AT1. The Loder AT1 is particularly notable as it's specifically developed for motorhomes with a high load rating of 1320kg per tyre, making it suitable for vehicles up to approximately 4.5 tonnes.

The second group of tyres includes two tyres without winter rating: the new Goodyear Wrangler All-Terrain Adventure as a summer AT tyre, and the Continental Cross-Contact H/T as a more road-focused SUV tyre included for comparison.

2024 Sport Auto All Season Tyre Test

Below is the data from the Sport Auto all season tyre test. Their test vehicle was a sporty Hyundai i20N, and they included named reference summer and winter tyres, which is always nice (even if the summer tyre was the Asymmetric 3, a tyre originally launched over 10 years ago!)

Another key point is that the wet tests were done at cold conditions, "significantly below ten degrees", and around 7c for wet braking. Many of the all season tyres out performed the summer tyre, however as the summer tyre is not current it's hard to say whether a modern summer tyre would have performed better.

2024 Auto Bild Sportscars Winter Tyre Test

As with this years Tyre Reviews winter tyre test, Auto Bild Sportscars conducted a winter tyre test in the 235/35 R19 size.

While we had a slightly different test field, the good tyres were still good, which is always nice. The cheap tyres in this test, a Radar and Auto Green, again prove that you get what you pay for, with both tyres doing well in one category (snow) but then being complete disasters in the dry and wet.

2024 Auto Bild SUV All Season Tyre Test

Auto Bild AllRads's 2024 SUV All Season Tyre Test tested 12 all-season tyres in size 245/45 R18, alongside summer and winter reference tyres. The test revealed significant performance gaps between the best and worst all-season tyres across various conditions, while also highlighting the compromises these tyres make compared to specialized seasonal options.

In dry conditions, the top-performing all-season tyres approached the capabilities of the summer reference tyre, but couldn't quite match its grip or balance. The Pirelli Cinturato All Season SF3 demonstrated the shortest dry braking distance among all-season tyres at 37.7 meters, though still 2.4 meters behind the summer reference. In contrast, the poorest performing Minerva All Season Master required an additional 5.7 meters to stop. Dry handling tests showed similar trends, with the best all-season tyre, the Hankook Kinergy 4S2, achieving an average speed just 1.1 km/h slower than the summer reference, while the slowest Nexen N Blue 4Season 2 lagged by 5.3 km/h.

2024 AS SUV Winter Tyre Test

German auto magazine AUTO Straßenverkehr has conducted an SUV winter tyre test, evaluating ten models in the 235/55 R18 size. The test, carried out under various weather conditions including snow, wet, and dry surfaces, aims to provide consumers with valuable insights into tyre performance for the upcoming winter season.

The Michelin Pilot Alpin 5 SUV emerged as the top performer, achieving the highest score of 8.9 and a "very good" rating. It excelled particularly in snow performance and dry handling. Close behind was the Continental WinterContact TS 870 P, securing second place with a "very good" 8.6, showing balanced performance across all conditions.

2024 All Season and Winter Tyre Test

Auto Zeitung, a German automotive publication, has conducted a tyre test comparing the performance of all-season and winter tyres. The test features 10 premium touring tyres in size 215/55 R17, including three all-season and seven winter options, across various driving conditions.

The test results highlight the difference differences between all-season and winter tyres. In dry conditions, all-season tyres consistently outperformed their winter counterparts, demonstrating shorter braking distances and faster handling times. This showcases their versatility in warmer weather.

The gap between all-season and winter tyres narrowed in wet conditions. While some all-season tyres still excelled, certain winter tyres, notably the Bridgestone Blizzak LM005, showed impressive wet performance, sometimes surpassing their all-season rivals.

As expected, winter tyres generally dominated in snowy conditions. However, the test revealed that some high-quality all-season tyres could compete effectively with winter tyres in light to moderate snow, particularly in traction and lateral grip tests.

2024 AutoBild All Season Tyre Test

As usual, no one does it better than AutoBild. Since revealing the best 15 all season tyres in wet and dry braking, they put the victors through to their full barrage of tests, which includes wear testing!

It's a really fascinating in depth look at the best of the all season tyres in the popular 225/50 R17 size, check out all the data below. The Bridgestone was the best in the pre-test, best in both dry and wet braking, but can it continue its dominance now that there's 15 more categories to grade?

2024 ADAC All Season Tyre Test

Famously, ADAC are not fans of all season tyres, seeing them as too compromised for year round motoring and insisting that a summer and winter tyre combination is superior.

This means ADAC have not tested all season tyres since 2020, so lets see if the modern batch of all season tyres can change ADACs mind!

2024 EV Tyre Test

The Auto Bild 2024 summer tyre test for electric vehicles (EVs) in the 235/55 R19 size aimed to compare the performance of standard and specialized EV tyres to determine if EV-specific tyres offer significant advantages over their conventional counterparts. The test included eight tyre models: the Continental PremiumContact 7, Falken e.Ziex [ev specific], Hankook iON evo SUV [ev specific], Michelin Pilot Sport 4 SUV, Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6, GT Radial SportActive 2 EV [ev specific], Bridgestone Potenza Sport, and Goodride ZuperEco Z-107.

2023 Tyre Reviews UHP All Season Tyre Test

In this test I'll be comparing 7 of the most popular ultra high performance all season tires to find out which tire is best for you.

If you've read any of my previous all season tests, you'll be happy to know that six of the tires in this test I've never tested before, and they include the brand new Pirelli P Zero AS 3 Plus and the brand new Falken Azenis FK460AS. The tire I have tested before is one of the benchmarks of the segment, the Continental ExtremeContact DWS06+, so if you want to, you'll have a cross reference points to compare the tires in this test to the tires in the previous tests.

As always I'll be digging into the dry, wet, comfort and noise performance of the tires, then in a later test I'll be looking at the snow performance, to give you a really complete overview of the tires performances.
